Peacocks – Head to Broadway Street at the north end of Longboat Key for a stroll where peacocks rule the neighborhood. You’re bound to see a bunch of show offs strutting their stuff…even in the middle of the road.
St. Armand’s Circle – Watching confectioners create sinful treats and browsing the shops are just a few of the fun things to do on St. Armand’s featuring holiday events, art & exotic car shows as well as live musical performances every fourth Friday of the month. (October through May)
Sarasota Ski-A-Rees – A FREE Water Ski Show is held every Sunday (February – May) at 2:00pm. The Ski-A-Rees are located beyond the parking lot for Mote Marine and “Save our Birds”. Come see the three tier pyramid with exciting jumps, barefoot skiing, ballet, swivel, trios and doubles! 1600 Ken Thompson Parkway, City Island.
Free Mondays at the Museum – The Ringling Museum opens its doors free of charge every Monday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Fun in the Park – Island Park at 1 Marina Plaza, offers lots of free things…a sprawling lawn, beautiful blue water, a fountain & play yard for children, sun, shade, massive and inventive sculptures, bench swings for watching a sunset and big, big boats.

Celery Fields – Grab the field guide and binoculars as this is the place where migratory visitors invade our resident bird population. The open fields are conducive to kites, bikes and a little bit of… climbing… and the ponds afford plenty of fishing and wildlife identification. More Info
